35mm film footage from the backstage of Bonnetje AW25 runway.

I had the chance to be part of the PR team for Bonnetje’s latest runway show—held in a crumbling, timeworn building where the ground floor turned into a runway and the first floor became a makeshift backstage. Doublages, their newest collection, was all about office life—but flipped, twisted, and dreamt up through a surreal lens.

Guests received invites scented like an old office drawer—paper, dust, toner—and a napkin marked with a lipstick kiss. As soon as the seating chart was set, I headed upstairs, only to cross paths with models darting up and down the narrow staircase like it was a fire drill.

Upstairs, the chaos had its own rhythm. Makeup artists leaned in, chatting while fixing liner or brushing on last-minute powder. Models slipped into deconstructed suits, paper folders folded into accessories, curtain fabric turned into skirts. A few flashes went off near the racks. Someone called for tape. Hairspray hung in the air. It was the office—but delirious, undone, romantic.

When the show started, most eyes were on the runway—but upstairs, the mood lingered. Models touched up lipstick in dusty mirrors, and the last bits of tape and hairspray held everything quietly in place. The office fantasy had already begun.
